George Lakoff is Richard and Rhoda Goldman Distinguished Professor of Cognitive Science and Linguistics at UC Berkeley and one of the founders of the field of cognitive science. He is author of The New York Times bestseller Don't Think of an Elephant! Moral Politics, Whose Freedom?, and many books and articles on cognitive science and linguistics.

Ian Masters is a BBC-trained broadcast journalist who has covered national security affairs for over 25 years on public radio. He is the host of "Background Briefing" and "Live from the Left Coast" on KPFK (90.7FM) Sundays, noon to 1PM. Programs recently described by the LA Times as "considerably more ambitious and frequently more illuminating than such Sunday morning television fare as NBC's Meet the Press and ABC's This Week With George Stephanopoulos."
