Participant(s) Bio

Ellen Dee Davidson is the author of two children's fantasies, When the Third Moon Wanes and Stolen Voices. Stolen Voices was recognized by the International Youth Library and featured in their White Ravens Catalogue and short-listed by ALA as a recommended Amelia Bloomer book. Zoe, the Misfit is her second picture book. Her first, Princess Justina Albertina, A Cautionary Tale, published by Charlesbridge in 2007 sold foreign rights and is being translated into Korean.

After graduating UC Santa Cruz, Ellen Dee Davidson obtained a teaching credential from Sonoma State University. She has a typical writer's resume, and has worked at all sorts of jobs including: licensed vocational nurse, piano teacher, elementary school teacher, special education teacher, creative writing teacher, and even tree planter.

Ms. Davidson lives in Humboldt County, CA with her husband, two daughters, and far too many pets! She is currently working on a screenplay, another young adult novel, and several picture books.
